Street & Documentary Photography with the iPhone 11 Pro.
Earlier this year I purchased an iPhone 11 Pro. I immediately found it to be an extremely capable tool for street and documentary photography (I wrote a review about my first impressions that can be found here). In the months since it has become an indispensable part of my workflow, both as camera and an editing platform. This morning I captured a few scenes from my subway commute on the Metro Red Line and created this short photo essay.
The flexibility of the iPhone 11 Pro give it an edge in situations like this. The low light on the subway is a challenging environment to photograph. It’s important to squeeze as much detail as possible out of each image. I use Halide as my main photo app for the amount of control it gives me over the settings. The simple, intuitive UI along with the responsiveness of the iPhone are a great combination. Next, I edit the images using Snapseed and upload them to the site. The ability to capture, edit, and publish my work on the same device continues to open up new creative possibilities.
